Dear Texas Wing and other fellow CAP members:

As we announced earlier, the Texas Wing 2011 Winter Basic Encampment will be held at Camp Swift, TX from 26 December to 31 January.  We expect to have any outstanding Encampment experience for Basic Cadets, Staff and CAP Officers.  Inprocessing will take place at Building 203 (Dining Facility) from 1300 to 1600 on Monday,  26 December 2011, and graduation will be held at 1400 on Saturday,  31 December 2011.

We are planning a challenging and enjoyable activity -- one that truly exemplifies the spirit of the Cadet Program Encampment as the most important single event in a CAP Cadet's career.  For every cadet in Texas and surrounding wings that need Basic Encampment for their Mitchell Award, eligibility for NCSAs, or simply to progress in the Cadet Program, this will be the "must attend" encampment in 2011.

Costs for In-flight Basic Cadets and Cadet Staff members will be $150.  Senior Member staff charges will  be $50.  As was published in an earlier message, we will be introducing an online registration and payment process this year, which has been highly successful in other wings.  Once you have completed this online registration process, you will receive an e-mail with the link to the entire packet of forms, which you will HAND CARRY with you to in-processing on Monday, 26 December.  We will conduct in-processing at the Building 203 Dining Facility, and will return to 203 following graduation with decentralized signing out by your Flight Staff.  These administrative and logistical changes will make everyone's lives easier and the whole process smoother.

If you have a significant reason you can not make payment by PayPal, please contact TexasEncampment@gmail.com, and we will assist you in making other payment arrangements.  Any non-PayPal payments will have to be received at TX Wing HQ NLT Friday 16 December.  No payments will be accepted at Encampment in-processing.

The cadet staff and much of the senior staff are in place, and are working hard to ensure this will be another great Encampment.  There are still selected Senior Member positions we need to fill.  Senior Members who can volunteer your time (for all of the week, set-up the week prior, or just a few days, please contact me (robert.jennings@njwg.cap.gov) personally.
